Feb 04, 2013 (newstodate): Norwegian salmon can obviously "eat up" any airfreight capacity that is thrown into the market.
As a new addition to the market for uplift of Norwegian seafood to the Asian markets, Qatar Airways is operating a weekly Boeing 777F freighter at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, at least through February 2013.
The freighter makes the call at Oslo as an en-route stop on the flight from Amsterdam to Doha, with onward connection to Asian destinations.
Since September 7, 2012, Asiana Cargo is also serving Oslo Gardermen Airport with a weekly Boeing 747-400F freighter service earlier operating at Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, and Korean Air Cargo has been operating from Oslo to Seoul, now offering three weekly rotations.
In addition, much Norwegian seafood is carried as belly cargo on carriers including Qatar Airways, Finnair and Thai International Airlines.
