Feb 13, 2013 (newstodate): Sukhoi has performed the first flight with the long-range version of the Superjet 100 aircraft.
Compared to the Superjet 100 standard version that has a range of 3,048 km, the long-range version will take its passengers on flights up to 4,578 km thanks to more efficient propulsion that will also facilitate even more efficient seat-mile costs.
The launch customer for the long-range Superjet 100LR is the Russian carrier Gazpromavia with orders for 10 aircraft.
Type certification of the new Superjet version is expected by the end of 2013.
