Feb 27, 2013 (newstodate): The Finnish IATA export cargo market took the lead in the Nordic region with positive growth figures in January 2013.
The total volumes reported by CASS were 3,245 tonnes, an increase by 12.5 percent, y-o-y.
Only two carrier reported negative growth in Finland in January - the national carrier Finnair and Singapore Airlines Cargo that saw volumes down by 6.5 and 48.8 percent, respectively, to 1,465 tonnes and 57 tonnes.
Finnair's leading position in volumes continued to slide, with a market share at 45.1 percent in January 2013, compared to 54.9 percent in January 2012.
For Singapore Airlines Cargo the market share was only 1.7 percent in January 2013, compared to 3.9 percent in January 2012.
Lufthansa Cargo ranked #2 in January 2013, with 296 tonnes, up 10.9 percent, followed by KLM Cargo with 218 tonnes, up 9.2 percent, Korean with 203 tonnes and up 416 percent, and Qatar Airways with 172 tonnes and up 228.9 percent, y-o-y.
