Feb 14, 2013 (newstodate): In 2012, international export air cargo dropped significantly at Greenland's main international airport, Kangerlussuaq.
Volumes from Greenland on the Air Greenland route to Copenhagen, Denmark, were 80 tonnes against 138 tonnes in 2011 - a drop by 53.7 percent, y-o-y.
Import volumes were 1,371 tonnes, a decrease by 9.1 percent, y-o-y.
Incoming air mail volumes were 383 tonnes, down 1.8 percent, y-o-y, while outgoing air mail was down eight percent to 34 tonnes.
Greenland's total international export cargo volumes were down 30 percent in 2012, to 114 tonnes, while the volume of the country's international import cargo volumes cannot be established on the basis of the existing statistical reports.
