Feb 08, 2013 (newstodate): Denmark has basically been ready for implementation of e-freight since 2010.
However, nothing of significance has happened since then.
-Looking at statistics covering one year on air cargo shipments between Denmark and Singapore, shipments are almost 100 percent e-freight from Singapore to Denmark, and a flat "zero" as to export e-AWBs from Denmark to Singapore, said Ulla Nilson, IATA Cargo Service Manager Nordic & Baltic, at yesterday's conference at Billund Airport on air cargo, arranged by the Danish Transportation Economics Association, TOF.
-All procedures are ready, the cost-saving arguments have been convincingly presented, still no action is seen since 2010. Anyhow, IATA has set 2015 as the cut-over deadline for global implementation of e-freight so there is still time for the industry to move, said Ms Nilson.
Little move was seen, though, among the audience when pressed for questions and comments.
