Dec 10, 2013 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo came hot on the heels after SAS Cargo in October 2013, according to the latest CASS statistics for Sweden's export airfreight market.
While SAS Cargo still reigned supreme with 15.6 percent of the market volumes, equal to 1,444 tonnes, Lufthansa Cargo came second with a share at 12.4 percent, with 1,149 tonnes.
But SAS Cargo's volumes were actually down 1.4 percent in October, while Lufthansa Cargo grew its volumes by 7.9 percent.
Trailing closely behind was #3, KLM Cargo with 12.1 percent market share, while maintaining a convenient distance to #4, Finnair with 8.4 percent and #5, Emirates with 6.6 percent.
Dropping out from the Top-10 list in October was Korean Air Cargo that saw its volumes down by 40.2 percent, to a mere 280 tonnes despite serving the Swedish cargo market with two weekly Boeing 747-400F freighter rotations.
