Dec 18, 2013 (newstodate): Norway's successful low-cost carrier Norwegian has again placed an order for more aircraft.
New in the books is an agreement with the leasing company MG Aviation to acquire two new Boeing 787-9 aircraft for delivery in the first quarter of 2016.
Today, Norwegian has three 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft in its long-haul fleet, as well as five more on order.
The company will have 10 long-haul aircraft in its fleet, four of which will be delivered in 2014, one in 2015 and two in 2016.
Compared to the Boeing 787-8, the Boeing 787-9 will accommodate up to 20 percent more passengers, be significantly lighter than the 787-8, carry more cargo, and consume eight percent less fuel per seat while offering a longer range.
