Dec 13, 2013 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's airlines are still barred from entry into EU in the EU Commission's latest edition of the blacklist.
The country is, however, adamant on seeing the situation relieved to allow Kazakh airlines to operate on routes to, from and via EU airspace.
The country's Ministry of Transport and Communications has now set Q1, 2014 as its deadline for reporting that all the eight critical elements noted by the ICAO audit in 2009 have now been rectified, with regulations, organization and structures brought into full compliance with EU and ICAO standards.
All Kazakh airlines' aircraft are currently on the EU blacklist except some of the aircraft operated by Air Astana.
