Dec 13, 2013 (newstodate): Finnair is working on the financing of its orders for new Airbus aircraft.
Finnair has thus signed a MoU with GECAS on the sale and leaseback of two Airbus 330 aircraft and two Airbus 350 aircraft.
At the same time, Finnair has revealed that it will take delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft by the second half of 2015.
In total, Finnair has placed firm orders for 11 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, exercising all options in the initial contract from 2005.
Finnair early decided to take aircraft with serial number 30 and upwards only, to avoid suffering from the expected teething troubles with the new aircraft.
That later proved a most clever design in light of the troubling experiences by other carriers from introducing the Boeing 787 aircraft in commercial service...
