Dec 05, 2013 (newstodate): As a consequence of the abrogation of the contracts between Estonian air and Air Lituanica from November 28, 2013, Estonian Air is to pull out from the Lithuanian market.
Estonian Air still operates the routes from Vilnius to Amsterdam and Berlin, but the carrier will pull out from the route to Berlin with the last flight on December 15, 2013, and from the route to Amsterdam from January 6, 2014.
-After Estonian Air was forced to terminate its contractual relationship with Air Lituanica due to repeated breaches by Air Lituanica, we have no intentions to serve these routes independently in long term, says Jan Palmer, Estonian Air CEO.
Air Lituanica will continue to operate the routes from Vilnius to Prague, Munich, Berlin and Brussels, and will add flights on a new route to Paris from January 14, 2014.
During the holiday period, Air Lituanica will also offer flights from Vilnius and Palanga to London and Dublin, wet-leasing an Airbus A320 from the Lithuanian ACMI provider, Small Planet Airlines.
