Dec 09, 2013 (newstodate): DHL Express holds a dominating position in Russia's express cargo and mail market.
According to a recent analysis by the US company Discovery Research Group, DHL holds 40 percent of the Russian market, followed by UPS with 11.7 percent, and TNT with 10.3 percent.
This leaves some 38 percent of the Russian market shared by other parties, with Russian Post as the main Russian provider.
DHL operates six weekly rotations on the route between Leipzig and Moscow, adding two extra rotations during the ongoing Christmas peak.
DHL's expectations for 2013 have, however, come down to some 40 million international shipments into Russia, against 45 million as earlier envisaged.
