Nov 11, 2013 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport continued its unbroken monthly increase in cargo volumes through October 2013.
A total of 10,554 tonnes of cargo was handled in October, making it the best-performing month so far into 2013 with an increase in volumes by 7.1 percent, y-o-y.
7,751 tonnes were international cargo that was up 11.2 percent, while another 2,803 tonnes were domestic cargo that dropped by 2.8 percent.
So far into 2013, the airport has handled a total of 96,466 tonnes of cargo, up 12.5 percent, y-o-y, driven by the increase at 15.3 percent in international cargo, to 70,170 tonnes.
Starting from October 27, 2013, Qatar Airways Cargo added a third frequency with Boeing 777F freighter aircraft at the airport that is also seeing three weekly calls by Asiana's Boeing 747-400F freighters as well as three weekly flights by Korean Cargo with Boeing 747-400F.
According to industry sources, Qatar Airways Cargo is even mulling plans for a further one or two rotations through Oslo Gardermoen Airport
