Nov 25, 2013 (newstodate): Finnair will reportedly be operating Boeing 787 Dreamliner capacity from December 2013.
According to industry sources, Finnair will wet-lease a Boeing 787 aircraft from the Polish carrier LOT for use on the route between Helsinki and New York.
The leased aircraft will cover up for shortfall of capacity as Finnair starts a program for upgrading its Airbus A330-300 aircraft cabins.
The Airbus aircraft will eventually be replaced by the deliveries of Airbus A350 aircraft starting from 2015.
In total, Finnair has placed firm orders for 11 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, exercising all options in the initial contract from 2005.
