Nov 04, 2013 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is centralizing its office set-up in the Norwegian market.
-We will close down our office in Bergen by mid-November, moving most of the staff to Oslo which will be our main office serving the market, says Alexander Kohnen, Lufthansa Cargo Director for the Nordic and Baltic countries.
-Both Bergen and Stavanger will, however, remain cargo-accepting stations, so the centralization of our sales staff at Oslo is just to be considered as a cost-saving measure.
-It is no secret that the Norwegian market is extremely competitive, with a huge capacity thrown in by carriers fighting for the seafood exports. The result is rates at rock-bottom levels, says Mr Kohnen.
