Nov 01, 2013 (newstodate): Travelers at Latvia's Riga Airport would have noticed a Boeing 757-200 aircraft in the livery of Royal Flight.
This and another similar aircraft are two Boeing 757-200 aircraft in the fleet of the Latvian carrier airBaltic but now placed on a dry-lease contract with Royal Flight, a new charter carrier set up in Russia by Coral Travel, member of the OTI Travel Group, planning to set up tourist charters between Russia and destinations in Turkey.
airBaltic took delivery of the two aircraft in April 2008 for use on longer flights from Riga to Almaty, Tashkent, London, Tel Aviv, Barcelona and other destinations.
They were, however, retracted from scheduled services in 2012, being since placed on leasing contracts with other carriers while also serving during this summer schedule as occasional back-up capacity.
