Nov 18, 2013 (newstodate): In October 2013, the privately-financed Hungarian airline venture, Solyom Airways had its wings clipped even before its visions turned into reality.
Plans were to set up a new extensive European route network based at Budapest Airport, backed by Hungarian and Oman investors.
But the carrier run into cash and management problems and lost its AOC in October.
Now it is re-emerging in Africa after being acquired by a Hungarian organization based in Africa, Charity March headed Tamas Welsz.
The airline will reportedly be operating two Boeing 737-500 aircraft - but it remains unknown which authority will issue the AOC.
At the height of its visions, the airline expected to grow to no less than to 25 aircraft by 2014 and 50 aircraft by 2017.
