Nov 06, 2013 (newstodate): Notwithstanding the continued reports of problems experienced with the Boeing 787 by operators around the world, the production line is heating up - and the 100th aircraft will be delivered by Boeing before the end of this week.
As of today, the company has delivered 98 Dreamliner aircraft, #99 was delivered to Air India on November 5, and #100 will go to JAL that has ordered a total of 45 aircraft, with options for a further 20.
Currently turning out seven aircraft per month, Boeing is planning to increase monthly production to 10 units in 2014, going up to 12 in 2016 and to 14 before 2020.
So far, the company's backlog stands at 890 Boeing 787 aircraft.
