Nov 20, 2013 (newstodate): A new airline is under formation in Armenia - SkyNet.
Managed by Grigor Vardanyan as CEO, the carrier is slated for its first flight later this week with its so far only aircraft, a Jetstream 32.
The business case of the new airline comprises tourist and corporate charter operations, but also medical aviation which is a novelty in the country.
Plans are to expand into scheduled services as more aircraft are acquired, and non-scheduled flights from Yerevan to Tbilisi in Georgia and Tabriz in Iran are being planned at this stage.
