Nov 01, 2013 (newstodate): The global recession has not exactly benefited the sales figures of the Airbus A380.
111 aircraft have by now been delivered by Airbus to 10 customers, leaving a backlog of only 150 units as well as a total of 31 options.
The single largest operator of the A380 remains Emirates with orders for a total of 90 aircraft, 38 of which have now been delivered.
Looming on the horizon may an order by Emirates for a further 30 Airbus A380 as new airport space at Dubai becomes available.
Plans are to produce 25 of the aircraft in 2013, but the target may be further adjusted.
Industry sources have indicated that Air France may cut its order by two aircraft, from 12 to 10 aircraft, nine of which have now been delivered.
