Oct 09, 2013 (newstodate): Without further ado, WFS has silently pulled out from the airport handling market at Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport from this summer.
With effect from June 1, 2012, Worldwide Flight Services announced the launch of independent air cargo handling operations at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, taking over the lease agreement with Swedavia of 3,000 sq m terminal operated by A.S.P Logistic terminal from October 2009.
The terminal was managed by Martijn de Regt, formerly also manager of A.S.P Logistics, and referring to WFS General Manager for Scandinavia, Thomas Petersen, based at WFS's first Scandinavian terminal at Copenhagen Airport opened in 2006.
No comment on the silent closure of the terminal at Stockholm has so far been offered by WFS that is understood still to be bound by the lease agreement with Swedavia.
