Oct 07, 2013 (newstodate): Sweden's Jonkoping Airport continues its significant growth in cargo volumes through the first three quarters of 2013.
The airport handled a total of 2,365 tonnes of international cargo during January-September 2013, as well as 928 tonnes of mail.
This corresponded to a growth by 13 percent, y-o-y.
-Our monthly growth rate has now stabilized around 5-6 percent with volumes between 250 and 300 tonnes per month as the capacity of the freighter aircraft used by TNT has reached the ceiling, says Herman Larsson Jonkoping Airport AB Marketing Manager.
-We still hope TNT will decide to bring in a larger freighter aircraft like a Boeing 737 to lift volumes. Our expectations for 2013 are that we will land around 5,000 tonnes by the end of the year, says Mr Larsson.
