Oct 03, 2013 (newstodate): Russian carriers lifted a total of 631,678 tonnes of cargo in January-August 2013.
This was a slight increase by three percent, y-o-y, but together the Top-5 Russian cargo carriers increased their volumes by 6.5 percent, y-o-y, further gaining in their share of the market.
The Top-5 carrier thus generated a total of 493,912 tonnes of cargo during the period, now accounting for 76.6 percent of the total market against 73.5 percent in 2012.
Retaining their positions unchanged on the list, #1 was ABC with 272,878 tonnes and up 17.3 percent, y-o-y, followed by Aeroflot with 118,894 tonnes and down 4.3 percent, Transaero with 41,189 tonnes and up 3.5 percent, Volga-Dnepr with 38,114 tonnes and down 13.3 percent, and finally S7 Sibir with 22,837 tonnes and down 1.6 percent, y-o-y.
