Oct 02, 2013 (newstodate): Icelandair is planning for continued growth and expansion in 2014.
Icelandair has announced a new campaign to attract more pilots to the carrier for employment from Spring 2014, with up to "a few dozens" positions.
The carrier will open new destinations as well as increase frequencies on existing routes also in the years ahead, driving the need for more cockpit crews.
In the fleet now are 19 Boeing 757 passenger aircraft plus four Boeing 757-200F freighters.
But to realize the carrier's ambitious plans for the coming year, another three Boeing 757-200 aircraft will be added to the fleet in 2014.
In addition, Icelandair has also signed orders in December 2012 for delivery of 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and MAX 9 aircraft, putting another four aircraft on the top in February 2013, with all deliveries to start from 2018.
