Oct 29, 2013 (newstodate): After only few months in the air, the Norwegian virtual carrier FlyNonstop has filed for bankruptcy.
Citing inadequate financial backing for its operations, the carrier has cancelled all flights with immediate effect, leaving behind a debts pile to creditors including Avinor.
The carrier took delivery of its first Embraer E-190 aircraft operated by Denim Air on April 20, 2013, and was offering flights on a network including London City, Paris, Barcelona, Palma, Nice, Parma, Berlin and Dubrovnik.
The latest new route by FlyNonstop was to connect Bodoe, in Northern Norway, with London City Airport, starting from October 28, 2013, as the airport's first direct non-stop all-year international route.
Heading the carrier are Daniel Lundblad, flyNonstop CEO, Espen Hennig-Olsen, owner & marketing manager, and Christer Paulsen, Sales manager.
