Oct 03, 2013 (newstodate): Denmark will soon see the emergence of a new IATA freight forwarder - Pentagon Freight Services.
The new Danish company started operations from September 1, 2013, and expects to receive its IATA certification by next week as well as its full security approval.
-Pentagon Freight Services is a freight forwarding and logistics service provider to the global oil and gas industry, and the new Danish company has actually been set up by the Pentagon company in Norway, says Allan Sandgren, Pentagon Freight Services A/S Director.
-Also with effect from September 1, 2013, Pentagon in Norway has established a second company in Denmark, Seafront Logistics that will offer general freight forwarding services to customers in the Danish market. Together, the two companies will now go for attracting forwarding and logistics customers in Denmark where Pentagon has so far relied on agents. We are thus not starting from scratch, but build on existing volumes of business here.
-While we will be actively pursuing both sea and air logistics customers, experience has proved that air transportation will weigh heavily as especially the oil and energy sectors often call for fast and time-sensitive operations. Sea transport will, in most cases, be preferred in connection with large projects that are also within our capabilities in cooperation with Pentagon's world-wide network of offices and companies, says Mr Sandgren.
Also driving the setup of the new company in Denmark is the expectation in the oil and energy sector for exploration and drilling in Greenland to come up in the future.
