Oct 02, 2013 (newstodate): Measured in terms of production alone, August was not the best in 2013 for the Latvian carrier airBaltic.
A total of 296,345 passengers boarded the carrier's aircraft in August, which was down 4.6 percent, y-o-y.
Flight operations were down 4.2 percent to 4,328, so August 2013 was a month with fewer flights with even fewer passengers, compared to August 2012.
The over-all load factor thus dropped to 74 percent in August 2013, compared to 77 percent in August 2012.
The same trend is seen in the load factor for January-August 2013 that fell to 71 percent compared to 74 percent in 2012.
What counts on the balance-sheet, however, is not the actual number of passengers but rather revenues from the operation - which are not reported on a monthly basis by the carrier.
