Oct 09, 2013 (newstodate): DHL Express is increasing its flight operations to serve the Swedish market.
Starting from October 27, 2013, the company will add a second daily frequency on its route to Stockholm Arlanda via Copenhagen Airport, which again serves as DHL Express' regional sub-hub to relieve the European hub at Leipzig that has reached its capacity ceiling.
The current DHL Express flight to Stockholm is operating directly to and from Leipzig.
The flights are operated with Boeing 757-200F aircraft.
-This is a part of our long term expansion plan for the European and Nordic network. There is a market and customer need for even faster lead times within Europe and to and from the rest of the world. To be able to deliver this, at the same time as we see a positive volume growth both for inbound and outbound lanes, we are constantly working with network optimization to meet existing and future demands, says Ann-Kristine Johansson, DHL Express Sweden Marketing Director.
-The export market growth is mainly driven by new SME customers expanding their international trade, says Ms Johansson.
