Oct 17, 2013 (newstodate): As recently announced, DHL Express is to increase its traffic and volumes at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.
The change is spurred by the current stress building up on DHL Express' European hub at Leipzig Airport causing the company to re-route a number of flights through other airports serving as temporary sub-hubs, rather than operating them all through Leipzig.
The volume of rotations through Copenhagen Airport will thus go up from currently four to 10 per day, with Copenhagen to see direct flights also to and from Brussels, Cologne and East Midlands.
-This is, however, only a temporary "de-stressing" strategy, and after 24 months operations at Copenhagen Airport should be back to normal again, says Claus Lassen, DHL Express (Denmark) Managing Director.
