Oct 11, 2013 (newstodate): The privately-financed Hungarian airline venture, Solyom Airways may find its wings clipped even before the visions turn into reality.
According to industry sources, the project has been slammed by the retreat of its main investor Oman Air and is now unable to pay its staff the September wages.
With its CEO Jozsef Vago hospitalized and one deputy resigning, the management core is shaken and the future for the project looms bleak.
Plans for Solyom Airways included flights to 22 destinations including six European capitals will count Stockholm as well as Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Milan, and Paris with a fleet of six Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The carrier was reportedly to receive its AOC by mid-October, with first commercial flights to start by the end of this month.
