Jan 09, 2013 (newstodate): The Ukrainian carrier Aerosvit is fighting hard to convince the markets that it has not really been declared bankrupt, just seeking shelter from creditors while seeking ways to reorganize the company and straighten out the financial problems.
As several aircraft have, however, been arrested at airports including Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tel Avia and Warsaw, the carrier is unable to maintain its schedules, with many cancellations and, at best, delays as a result.
Many airports have also refused to allow Aerosvit operations as service providers pull out from contracts.
In the meantime, Aerosvit's routes will increasingly be operated by Ukraine International Airlines under a code-share agreement.
