Jan 14, 2013 (newstodate): Another member of the Ukrainian Aviation Group seems to be biting the dust.
As is the case with the group's most well-known member Aerosvit, Dniproavia is facing severe financial troubles and has announced a stop to its flight operations comprising domestic and international scheduled flights as well as charter operations.
The Ukrainian Aviation Group is owned by Igor Kolomoyskyi's Privat Group that was earlier also behind the Scandinavian carrier Cimber Sterling and Skyways that went bankrupt in 2012.
In the fleet of Dniproavia are 23 aircraft that will continue to operate for Aerosvit.
The third member of Ukrainian Aviation Group is Donbassaero, operating 10 Airbus A320 Family aircraft for Aerosvit.
To add further to the confusion in Ukraine's civil aviation industry, routes till now operated by the ailing Aerosvit are increasingly to be taken over by Ukraine International Airlines, while the exact ownership relations between the two airlines are still shrouded in secrecy.
