Jan 03, 2013 (newstodate): A defunct airport in southern Bulgaria may become alive and operational again.
Decommissioned in 1992, Stara Zagora Airport with a 2,400m asphalted runway has since been used only by agricultural aircraft, but lately a French investing company has aired interest in taking over the premises aiming at rebuilding the airport for use by corporate and private aviation as well as a site for training activities.
Other parties have also showed interest in taking part in the redevelopment of the airport that might have a future as a logistics center, with support from Chinese and South Korean parties.
