Jan 31, 2013 (newstodate): Moldova's government is preparing to launch a tender for ownership of Chisinau International Airport.
Currently 100 percent owner by the state, plans are to attract a foreign investor to enter a public-private ownership construction with management rights for 30-50 years.
Among the immediate obligations facing the potential new owner and airport manager will be the reconstruction of the runway, new taxiways, new passenger and cargo terminals, an airport hotel and parking facilities - totaling a package values around 200 mio euro.
Chisinau International Airport now has one 3,590m concrete runway and handled 1.2 mio passengers and 2,800 tonnes of cargo in 2012.
