Jan 28, 2013 (newstodate): The agreement reached in 2012 for joining Moldova to EU's common aviation area has now taken effect.
The agreement having been signed by all parties, the European market has now been opened for Moldova's carriers, EU aviation standards in Moldova's civil aviation have been established, and new prospects for the development of Moldova's airports at Chishinau, Balti, Markulesti and Cahul are on the horizon.
With the opening of the skies over Moldova, all earlier restrictions on flight volumes, frequencies and operators have thus been lifted.
