Jan 23, 2013 (newstodate): December 2012 proved a difficult month for IATA export airfreight in all four Nordic markets.
Total cargo export volumes were thus down in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, with Norway suffering the least - only down 0.8 percent to 8,252 tonnes.
Sweden continued its downward trend through 2012 with a drop by 19.1 percent, y-o-y, to 6,995 tonnes, with the Danish IATA market trailing closely behind with a decline by 14,7 percent to 5,047 tonnes.
In the Finnish IATA export airfreight market volumes were also down by 2,3 percent, y-o-y, to 2,976 tonnes in December 2012.
One reason behind the over-all drop in all Nordic markets in December might be the relatively fewer working days due to Christmas celebrations.
