Jan 03, 2013 (newstodate): Iceland's sole low-cost carrier WOW Air has named Aviareps as its GSA in Italy, Poland and Spain.
With immediate effect, Aviareps will undertake the responsibility to establish the WOW Air brand within these markets and to promote the connections between Iceland and the European mainland.
WOW Air currently operates flights from Keflavik to Berlin, Copenhagen and London, but in 2013 the carrier will offer flights between Iceland and 15 top European destinations including London, Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Milan, Zurich, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Lyon, Alicante, Frankfurt, Vilnius and Warsaw.
WOW Air currently operates two Airbus A320 aircraft, but the fleet will be expanded to four aircraft from summer 2013, all leased from its airline partner Avion Capital Partners, based in Switzerland.
Launching its first flight on June 1, 2012, WOW Air was established by by Skuli Mogensen and Matthias Imsland, former Iceland Express CEO.
In October 2012, WOW Air took over its long-established competitor Iceland Express through an outright acquisition.
