Jan 18, 2013 (newstodate): The low-cost carrier easyJet is now in the last planning stage for opening flights to Russia.
Effective from March 18, 2013, the carrier will launch a daily flight from London Gatwick to Moscow Domodedovo Airport, using Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.
Already from April 15, 2013, a second daily rotation will be added.
The opportunity for easyJet arose after BMI exited the route as a consequence of BA's acquisition of BMI from Lufthansa.
After British Airways, BMI was the second carrier in the air between London and Moscow from summer 2006.
