Jan 02, 2013 (newstodate): Starting from this month, the Faroe Island carrier Atlantic Airways will be operating fairly far from its home turf.
The carrier has landed a wet-lease contract with the Chilean carrier DAP to provide aircraft capacity in the form of one Avro RJ85 aircraft.
The aircraft is now based in Santiago de Chile for a six month wet-lease period, to be turned into a dry-lase after the expiry of this period, and Atlantic Airways will deliver additional aircraft capacity from summer as one further Avro aircraft will be phased out from service with the carrier.
