Jan 08, 2013 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport has now completed construction of three new hangars, the first of which will be put to use on January 10, 2013.
The new hangar has been leased to Ryanair, allowing the carrier to perform light maintenance jobs on its Boeing 737-800 aircraft based at the airport that is its main destination in Denmark.
Together, the three hangars cover 2,400 sq.m.
Ryanair first started operations at Billund Airport from February 24, 2007, offering four weekly flights between Dublin and Billund.
In March 2012, Ryanair opened its 48th base at Billund Airport with two Boeing 737-800 aircraft stationed at the airport and offering flights to and from some 20 destinations.
The carrier's CEO Michael O'Leary is today to hold a press conference at Billund Airport with undisclosed content.
