Jan 11, 2013 (newstodate): All three Scandinavian capital airports report increases in passenger volumes in 2012.
Denmark's Copenhagen Airport retained its position as the largest Scandinavian airport, measured in passenger numbers, with a total of 22.3 mio passengers in 2012, mostly transfer passengers thanks first of all to the airport's hub position in the SAS network.
Copenhagen Airport thus grew its pax volumes in 2012 by 2.7 percent, which was, however, the smallest increase, percentage-wise among the Scandinavian competitors.
Ranking #2 in passenger volumes, but topping the list as to passenger growth in 2012 was Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport that handled a total of 22.1 mio passengers and growing 4.6 percent, y-o-y.
Finally, Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport handled 19.6 mio passengers in 2012, after growing its volumes by 3.0 percent.
In the Nordic region, Finland's Helsinki Vaanta Airport has still not reported its 2012-totals, but counting January-November 2012 volumes this will hardly change the Nordic ranking.
During the first 11 months, Helsinki Vaanta Airport handled 13.8 mio passengers, up only 0.2 percent, y-o-y.
