Jan 29, 2013 (newstodate): Russia's Rosaviatsia has now published the data for the country's air cargo volumes in 2012.
A total of 987,847 tonnes of cargo and mail was transported by Russian carriers - a modest increase by 0.7 percent, y-o-y.
Five carriers further boosted their joint leading position by 6.1 percent above 2011, in 2012 accounting for 72.5 percent of all cargo, corresponding to 715,889 tonnes.
These five carriers were AirBridgeCargo carrying 352,723 tonnes of cargo and mail but down 3.3 percent, y-o-y, Aeroflot with 193,949 tonnes and rising 20.8 percent, Volga-Dnepr 65,930 tonnes and up 5.3 percent, Transaero 65,875 tonnes and increasing steeply by 28.3 percent, and finally S7 Sibir with 37,413 tonnes of cargo and mail and increasing 7.1 percent, y-o-y.
