Jan 30, 2013 (newstodate): This year, Azerbaijan Airlines will become a new operator of Airbus A340-500 aircraft.
The carrier will take delivery of two such aircraft by April, 2013, acquired on a lease contract with AJW Capital Partners Ltd.
Also on order are two Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft planned for delivery in 2014.
In the fleet of the carrier are now 10 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, four Boeing 757-200, two Boeing 767-300ER, and 2013 will further see the delivery of four Embraer 170 and two Embraer 190 aircraft.
The airline has also put its two ATR 42-500 and four ATR 72-500 aircraft up for sale, and three of the six aircraft have already found new, yet-unnamed buyers.
