Jan 14, 2013 (newstodate): Despite recession in December, Lithuania's Vilnius Airport managed to grow its total cargo volumes in 2012.
The airport's total loads landed at 5,927 tonnes of cargo and mail in 2012, an increase by 2.53 percent, y-o-y.
4,756 tonnes were cargo shipments, while mail volumes were 1.171 tonnes.
The airport's passenger volumes increased sharply in 2012, reaching 2,208,097 and growing 28.9 percent, y-o-y, despite the continued lack of a national carrier, leaving the market to not least low-cost carriers on point-to-point traffic.
