Sep 21, 2012 (newstodate): According to the latest statistics, Sweden's IATA export airfreight volumes continued to decline in August 2012.
A total of 7,496 tonnes of export cargo was transported by IATA carriers, down 15.8 percent, y-o-y.
All top-10 IATA carriers took their share in the general decrease, noting negative growth compared to August 2011.
Only two carriers, however, saw volumes declining below average - #2 on the top-10 list, Lufthansa Cargo, down 8.7 percent, y-o-y, to 750 tonnes, and #4, Air China that was down 8.1 percent to 561 tonnes in August.
Topping the list as #1, SAS Cargo was down 16.7 percent, to 1,023 tonnes, while #3, KLM Cargo was down 19 percent to 613 tonnes.
#5, Finnair Cargo dipped the most, down 36.8 percent to 561 tonnes, #6, Emirates fell 31.6 percent to 498 tonnes, while #7, Martinair was also down 30.8 percent to 443 tonnes.
#8, Korean Air Lines was down 17.2 percent to 383 tonnes, while Singapore Airlines again did not manage to get onto the top-10 list, rated instead as #11 with 304 tonnes, down 17.4 percent.
