Sep 11, 2012 (newstodate): The world's first operator of the airbus A380 aircraft, Singapore Airlines has now taken delivery of its 19th and last Airbus jumbo aircraft on firm order.
The world's first A380 was handed over to Singapore Airlines on October 15, 2007, about two years later than originally planned, and the carrier performed its first commercial flight with the aircraft on October 25, 2007, as a special charity flights before being introduced on its first scheduled route between Singapore and Sidney.
Singapore Airlines still has purchase rights for a further six A380 aircraft.
The last delivery to Singapore Airlines was also Airbus' 80th A380 delivery.
