Sep 20, 2012 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Atran Cargo Airlines saw its cargo volumes down by 13.4 percent, y-o-y, during January-July 2012.
A total of 1,329 tonnes of cargo was carried during the period, while revenue tonne-kilometers were down 16 percent, y-o-y, and the cargo load factor remained unchanged at 72.8 percent.
Little effect is thus seen so far from Atran's acquisition by Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group in October 2011, intended to provide the backbone for new flight operations with Atran's freighter fleet.
With the new owner, Atran has added one Boeing 737 freighter with one more to follow.
In the Atran fleet are also seven AN-12, five AN-26, and five IL-76 freighter aircraft.
