Sep 04, 2012 (newstodate): Sweden's Jonkoping Airport continues to report a significant growth in cargo in 2012.
In August 2012, the airport handled a total of 289 tonnes of cargo, up 75 percent, y-o-y, and August was thus the 14th consecutive month with cargo growth above 50 percent.
The cargo growth reflects the sustained strong performance by TNT at the airport as well as TNT's cooperation with time:matters since April, 2012.
While the cargo volumes are thus in a steep growth mode, mail traffic at the airport has now since July 1, 2012, been scaled down to only one nightly service to Stockholm Arlanda after Post Sweden closed down its postal mini-hub at Jonkoping.
Prior to that, mail volumes contributed about half of the total cargo volumes at Jonkoping Airport.
