Sep 19, 2012 (newstodate): A new regional aircraft maintenance center is to be established in Georgia.
Behind the project is a US-Georgian airline consortium that plans to locate the coming new facility at the country's Tbilisi Airport.
The facility will include a hangar for aircraft maintenance, a training centre and a VIP terminal, with construction works to start reportedly in September 2012.
The aim of the new facility, to be financed by the US partner, is to attract regional aircraft customers from the CIS region, but so far no details on which aircraft types will be serviced have been published.
