Sep 04, 2012 (newstodate): Serb media optimistically report that JAT has attracted a bid from a major Asian carrier.
In focus is the Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia that has reportedly sent a high-ranking delegation to Belgrade to conduct business talks and meeting the Serb minister of transport.
Rather fanciful, reports say that AirAsia will make Belgrade its European hub and use JAT services to feed European traffic to and from its own hub at Kuala Lumpur.
Operating a fleet of 101 A320 aircraft, AirAsia currently operates more than 142 routes to 78 destinations in Asia and so far with no connections to Europe.
