Sep 19, 2012 (newstodate): Delta Air Lines has now reportedly emerged as the new operator of the three MD-82 aircraft formerly with SAS Airline.
On September 14, 2012, SAS announced the sale of the three aircraft to "a new owner" that has also secured the option to take a further 19 MD-87 aircraft and 10 spare engines from SAS as the carrier phases out this aircraft type from 2013.
The first of the MD-82 aircraft has now been registered with FAA, showing its new ownership by Delta.
SAS has officially declined to name the buyer, citing a clause of confidence.
